Keeping the Engines Running

In today's post we received two vehicle grant requests from India and one from Tanzania, plus over £500 in donations. The money received came from a church appeal in September, from individual donors and  from the sale of Christmas Cards (http://www.survive-miva.org/downloads/XmasCardsLeaflet%202013.pdf ). We also received confirmation of an appeal date at a parish for 2014.

With all this support we can keep those engines running!

40 Years of Service

SURVIVE-MIVA was founded in 1974 and we will be celebrating with Mass on Saturday 28th June 2014 in the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral at 12 noon. All are welcome to attend so please put this date in your diary.

Yesterday, and today, I have been sorting through old photographs to send to our Graphic Designer, Karen, at Gecko Design Ltd. (Twitter: @geckodesignltd) who is preparing a special 40th anniversary edition of our magazine, Awareness. Of the photographs I have been viewing, I particularly like this one of Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta. It was taken in Liverpool, in 1982 I believe, when she was visiting the City. The vehicle was to support the work of the Missionaries of Charity (the Order Mother Teresa founded) in Cairo.

Well it is time for me to stop looking through the archives and get on with the pile of work in my 'in-tray'!
